Vamos a tratar de ir por partes, muchas personas nos confundimos con todas estas preguntas... a ver si esto nos ayuda un poco a aclararnos: 

SEXO
El sexo se entiende como una cuestión determinada por razones biológicas y está constituido por cromosomas, genitales, hormonas y gónadas. Este sexo puede ser femenino, masculino o intersexual.
En Second Life por ejemplo, SÓLO puedes tener un sexo: masculino o femenino.

Pero... yo he visto avatares y personas andróginas... 
Por supuesto, pero es que esto es otra cosa, eso es la:
EXPRESIÓN DE GÉNERO 
La expresión de género es la forma en que manifestamos nuestro género mediante nuestro comportamiento y/o nuestra apariencia. Esta NO SIEMPRE está vinculada con su sexo biológico, su identidad de género o su atracción/orientación sexual.

Piensa que no siempre una mujer ha sido bien vista llevando un traje de chaqueta.  
Por ejemplo una persona que se vista con prendas "no asociadas a su sexo" (un hombre con minifaldas) no tiene por qué sentirse mujer. Es una persona que se ha decidido travestir, pero eso no tiene que ver con su sexo biológico. Es una expresión de género.
Ok, entonces si eres hombre y te pones falta... ¿eres gay? 
Mmm... pues tampoco tiene porqué, eso sería la: 

ATRACCIÓN/ORIENTACIÓN SEXUAL/PREFERENCIA SEXUAL
Esto es la capacidad de una persona para sentirse atraída emocional, sexual y afectivamente por personas de un género diferente al tuyo, del mismo o de más de un género. Esta atracción, orientación o preferencia no tiene porqué estar basada en el sexo biológico, la expresión de género o la identidad.

Tú por ejemplo, puedes ser un hombre desde el punto de vista biológico, ser heterosexual y llevar faldas y no ser gay.
Vale, pero entonces... ¿que es la identidad?
IDENTIDAD 
Esto sería la percepción subjetiva que un individuo tiene sobre sí mismo en cuanto a su propio género y este a su vez que podría o no coincidir con su sexo biológico, con su atracción sexual o con su expresión de género.

For example, you can be a man from the biological point of view, be straight and wear skirts and not be gay.
Okay, but then ... what is identity?

 IDENTITY
This would be the subjective perception that an individual has about himself regarding his own gender and this in turn that may or may not coincide with his biological sex, with his sexual attraction or with his gender expression.

Bisexual

ENG:  Bisexual is usually understood as romantic attraction or sexual attraction to both men and women. In other words, being a man who likes men or women indistinctly or being a woman who likes both men and women. Being bisexual is NOT being gay or lesbian.
